About Joy

Joy Kent is the Lead Teacher at Adventures. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Studies and has over 20 years of experience working with young children and families. She loves being outdoors (except on the really hot, muggy days). She also enjoys biking, hiking, camping, walking and growing veggies and fruit in her garden. She has four daughters- ages 20, 13, 10 and 5, which keeps her and her husband quite busy. They’ve also been doing a lot of home remodeling projects the last year and a half (had almost half the house down to studs).

She loves helping kids feel safe, secure, and valued and loves to see the imagination and learning that takes place as preschoolers play! Children’s curiosity about the world is infectious and encourages Joy to always keep learning. She also loves the Nature Explore focus at Adventures- there is so much to be learned from the world around us.
